Supreme Court decision ignores hundreds of mothers killed by botched abortions

When the Supreme Court struck down provisions of Texas' abortion clinic regulations this week, pro-abortion supporters rejoiced on social media. They somehow considered it a victory that women across the state of Texas will now be obtaining abortions from clinics with little professional oversight and doctors who may not be qualified to treat them if the abortion is botched.

Among the regulations that were struck down was a requirement that doctors performing abortions have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. That measure would have prevented another "Kermit Gosnell" situation, where an unqualified abortionist was operating in unsanitary conditions and harming countless women by botching their abortions.

Abortion advocates claim that the Texas regulations were pointless because women are not at risk of complications during the abortion process. CDC statistics, however, say otherwise. At least 400 women have died from botched abortions in the United States since legalization, with countless more harmed and maimed. Exact numbers may never be known, as documentation of such cases are not required. Lemony Snicket funds series of unfortunate baby murders with $1 million Planned Parenthood gift

Daniel Handler, who writes children's books under the pen name Lemony Snicket (and in turn inspired a hit Jim Carrey film), announced on Twitter Monday that he was giving one million dollars to Planned Parenthood.

"@lisabrowndraws & I are giving 1 million dollars to @PPFA. We’ve been very fortunate, and good fortune should be shared with noble causes," he said in the tweet.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America quickly tweeted out thanks to Handler and his wife Lisa Brown for the gift:

Are Planned Parenthood baby parts funding Hillary Clinton's campaign?

According to a new report, Hillary Clinton has received significant support from the leaders of Planned Parenthood, even as the organization is mired in controversy over the selling of the body parts of aborted babies. It leads to the uncomfortable assumption that the selling of baby parts may be passively funding the Clinton campaign.

According to a FreeBeacon.com report by Bill McMorris, the amount of money Hillary Clinton has received from Planned Parenthood staff is twenty times more than all the other Democratic presidential nominees combined. It is impossible to tie a direct link between the money Planned Parenthood earned by selling baby parts to money given to the Clinton campaign, mostly because the money trail generated by the individual clinics selling the parts is not accessible to the public. However, the principle is certainly there: Planned Parenthood has benefited greatly from Clinton's support, and both the Clinton and Obama administrations ensured the organization's practices were protected from government scrutiny.

As a senator during the Bush years, Clinton and other Democrats limited Republican efforts to closely regulate abortion procedures. In return, Planned Parenthood executives and staff used the fruit (and baby parts) of their labors to support Clinton's current presidential run. McMorris provides more details:

She (Clinton) received far more from Planned Parenthood employees than her Democratic rivals, the former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., VT), the former Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee, and the former Virginia senator Jim Webb. Webb, O’Malley, and Sanders have perfect pro-abortion voting records, while Chafee scored a 90, according to NARAL rankings. But Clinton raised 20 times as much money from Planned Parenthood employees. Sanders was the only other candidate to receive money from the abortion provider, garnering two donations totaling $500.

Vicki Cowart, the CEO of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains, Melissa Flournoy, the state director of Louisiana Planned Parenthood, and Catherine Valentine, general counsel for the San Jose-based Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, all contributed the primary maximum of $2,700 to Clinton’s campaign. Clinton led the entire presidential field with more than $46 million in total fundraising.

Planned Parenthood's support of the Democratic party comes as no surprise, but few realize the scope of their influence. The organization gave $18 million to independent political groups in 2014 and 2012, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Planned Parenthood itself has given nearly $6 million to Democrats since 1990.

Wendy Davis' campaign for Texas governor is struggling, trailing her Republican opponent Greg Abbott by as much as 18 points, according to one poll. That might explain why the Davis campaign has made the move of bringing in a Hollywood celebrity to boost her bid.

Actress Kathleen Turner rose to fame in the 1980s with films like Romancing the Stone and as the voice of Jessica Rabbit, and in recent years, has been a vocal supporter of abortion rights. In an email sent out to supporters Sunday night, Turner made her case for supporting Davis, while asking her supporters to donate to the Davis campaign war chest. The text of her email follows:

Would Michelle Obama eat Abortion Ice Cream or Gay Whoppers?

First Lady Michelle Obama stresses the importance of eating healthy, even though she rarely practices what she preaches and likes to indulge in high calorie foods. It would not surprise us, then, if Mrs. Obama downs a "Gay Whooper" to show her support for gay marriage and polishes that off with a scoop of "Planned Parenthood Ice Cream" to show her solidarity for baby killing.

The mainstream media once bemoaned the idea that Chick-fil-A would politicize fast food when the company's founder endorsed Christian beliefs and traditional marriage. Now that the politicization has shifted to a liberal cause, the media is embracing, if not celebrating, the move.

You likely heard about the "Gay Whopper," which was offered by a San Francisco Burger King during the city's Gay Pride Parade in June. Actually called the "Proud Whopper," the burger is no different from a standard Whopper, except that it comes in a rainbow-colored wrapper with the words "We Are All The Same Inside."

Burger King recently posted a YouTube video promoting the "Gay Whopper," which included a shot of a Burger King manager asking a customer if they wanted meat, because "we can go both ways."

Meanwhile, up the West Coast in Portland, Oregon, supporters of abortions rights wanted to show some solidarity with Planned Parenthood, so an ice cream shop called What's The Scoop? offered a special flavor ("Rose City Revolution") to honor the organization, with 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the ice cream donated to the abortion provider. The flavor was sold during a special event at the business on July 17.

The abortion ice cream event was first reported by LifeNews.com, who posted an image from the event listing called "Ice Cream for Planned Parenthood," from the Facebook page of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon. Although Planned Parenthood said the event was a "big success," how much money was raised was not disclosed. In addition, the owner of the ice cream shop claims they have received threatening messages via phone and social media, although the only insult they could actually produce is a Facebook post from someone asking if they would produce a flavor called "Fetus Fudge."

Government website posts positive bio of racist Planned Parenthood founder

For years, a government webpage has featured a positive biography of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, while failing to mention her racist beliefs, which included the use of birth control to “exterminate the Negro population.”

The webpage in question is featured on the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) website, and was originally published during the Clinton administration in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. It was published online on December 12, 1999.

The biography opens with the premise “sometimes social factors slow progress toward improving health more than lack of awareness or the absence of technology. No 20th century public health achievement demonstrates this more clearly than the struggle to provide women in the United States with safe and effective birth control. Margaret Sanger risked scandal, danger, and imprisonment to challenge the legal and cultural obstacles that made controlling fertility difficult and illegal.”

On the Komen/Planned Parenthood debacle...

After days of over-hyped criticism of the Komen Foundation, I'm anxious to see how the media will portray them now. I'm sure it will be praised as a brave decision that will save the lives of women (unless you are still in the womb, of course). Now, if only we can get Planned Parenthood to actually use the money for breast cancer screenings instead of throwing it into their general fund (which is what started this).

I knew I didn't like Ina "The Barefoot Contessa" Garten

The Barefoot Contessa - aka Ina Garten - always rubbed me the wrong way. All of her friends on the show are always gay men, like she collects them or something. No other diversity in her friends. It's odd. Not even my gay friends have as many gay friends as she does. I addition, she wouldn't let Jennifer Garner, who is a big fan, appear on her show because she only has her friends (the aforementioned gay men) appear on her show. Why would she do that? Jennifer Garner is America's sweetheart!

After a little digging, I know why I felt a disturbance in the Force with Garten: she's a big-time supporter of liberal causes. She hosted a benefit at her New York home for the Hudson Peconic branch of Planned Parenthood in 2004. This is the same woman who refuses to participate in charity events for The Food Network, even though most of the channel's other show hosts do. When America's biggest baby killer needs to raise some money, however, she's there.

When you are in the business of killing off human beings when they are at their most vulnerable, ethics is not among your top priorities. Perhaps that is why the International Planned Parenthood Federation is asking for a slice of the Haitian charity pie.
