Starbucks CEO: If you support traditional marriage, take your business elsewhere!

At the Starbucks annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, CEO Howard Schultz sent a clear message to anyone who supports traditional marriage over gay marriage: we don't want your business. After saying Starbucks wants to "embrace diversity of all kinds," he told a shareholder who supports traditional marriage that he should sell his shares and invest in some other company.

According to a report by Forbes, Schultz seemed a bit intolerant of any Starbucks shareholders who opposed gay marriage for moral or religious reasons. During the meeting, shareholder Tom Strobhar (who founded the Corporate Morality Action Center) pointed out that after the company voiced its support for a referendum backing gay marriage in Washington state, a boycott by traditional marriage supporters caused a drop in sales revenue. Schultz told him "You can sell your shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company" if he did not agree with the company's pro-gay marriage stand.

Despite strong opposition from the religious and political right, support for gay marriage in America has risen in recent years. The rise of support for gay marriage has also seen a rise of intolerance for those who oppose it. Many who joined the boycott of Starbucks last year were dismissed as bigots, even though the boycott did cause revenue to drop. A website, DumpStarbucks.com, has earned tens of thousands of supporters who refuse to buy from the coffee chain in response.

Oh my! George Takei makes racist comment about Clarence Thomas

George Takei has lost his mind.

The Star Trek star blew his top over Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' opposition to gay marriage, and said something downright racist about him in an interview with Fox 10 in Phoenix.“He is a clown in black face sitting on the Supreme Court. He gets me that angry. He doesn’t belong there…I mean, this man does not belong on the Supreme Court. He is an embarrassment. He is a disgrace to America,” he said.

Angie's List opposes religious freedom in Indiana

Angie's List, the wildly popular website featuring reviews of local businesses, recently stepped into the debate over the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in Indiana by announcing they were not following through with a $40 million expansion of the company in the state, in protest of the new law. They joined several companies who planned boycotting the state of Indiana over the law, which they say allows for discrimination against gays. Supporters of the law say it merely protects many from violating the tenets of their faith.

Now, The National Organization for Marriage has started a campaign against Angie's List for their intolerance of the Christian faith. They have started a website, DumpAngie.com, to organize a protest. Organizers posted this statement on the site:

Angie's List has announced that they are halting a $40 million expansion of their facility in Indiana to protest passage of the common sense religious liberty bill. Angie's List thinks that attacking the rights of Christians and other faiths is smart business, so we're showing the business community the real effects of attacking religious liberty. Join us in dumping Angie's List!

Organizers ask that Angie's List customers leave a final review, stating they are cancelling their subscription because of the company's stand against religious freedom. They also ask that supporters sign a petition which they will deliver to Angie's List. In the first few days of the petition drive, over 1,000 signatures had been collected.

Here are the Facebook and Twitter pages of the reporter who attacked Memories Pizza

You're likely familiar with all the liberal fury directed at Memories Pizza, the Indiana pizzeria who dared to say they supported the state's Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). You're likely not familiar, however, with the reporter who falsely characterized them as bigots. South Bend's ABC 57 reporter Alyssa Marino mischaracterized the owners of Memories Pizza, stating they would not serve gay customers, when in fact they said they would hypothetically turn down an offer to cater a gay wedding. Now, supporters of Memories Pizza are letting Marino know just how they feel, thanks to Facebook.

Alyssa Marino's Facebook page (click here to visit it) has been inundated with criticism from individuals upset over her slanted, sensationalized reporting. Marino has not responded on Facebook to the comments, and her last post is dated March 31, promoting the story, which was titled "RFRA: First business to publicly deny same-sex service." It should be noted that the owners of Memories Pizza stated they have never and would never deny serving a gay person, but if asked, would refuse to cater a gay wedding, which would be seen as an endorsement of gay marriage.

Marino did respond to the controversy through her Twitter account (@alyssa_marino). She didn't seem to be so aggressive towards the owners of Memories Pizza when responding to a tweet, stating "I just walked into their shop and asked how they feel. They've never been asked to cater a same-sex wedding." She did, however, manage to retweet someone who was heaping praise on her for being a "phenomenal, passionate and honest reporter." Obviously, the criticism is getting to her, as the desperate attempt to pat herself on the back shows.

A GoFundMe campaign raised nearly $850,000 for Memories Pizza after threats of violence caused them to temporarily close their doors.

Expedia celebrates a very gay Valentines Day

According to travel website Expedia.com, nothing says Valentines Day like lesbians.

A commercial released by the website promoting Valentines Day getaways, which aired on network and cable stations, featured a number of couples kissing in public places. Titled "PDA," the commercial implored amorous couples to "get a room," suggesting they use Expedia to book a hotel room.

However, in the middle of all the shots of kissing couples is a quick scene of two women kissing on a street corner. The shot is quick - only about three seconds long - and the couple is partially obscured for a second. Many viewers may not even realize they are both female, but a few sharp-eyed viewers caught the attempt at social commentary and voiced their displeasure on social media. Here is the commercial:

Nickelodeon cartoon reveals lesbian characters

The Nickelodeon cartoon The Legend of Korra aired their series finale last week, with a final scene that showed the two lead female characters, named Korra and Asami, entering a spirit portal together. Now, the series' co-creator, Michael Dante DiMartino, has revealed to fans of the show that - surprise - the characters were lesbians all along.

"Our intention with the last scene was to make it as clear as possible that yes, Korra and Asami have romantic feelings for each other. The moment where they enter the spirit portal symbolises [sic] their evolution from being friends to being a couple," DiMartino posted on his Tumblr account, while also acknowledging his surprise that they were able to broach certain adult subjects on "a children's TV network."

Is Android the official smartphone of gay marriage?

Google's line of Android devices, including smartphones and tablets, are the most popular mobile devices in the world, eclipsing both Windows mobile devices and iOS devices like iPhone. The success of Android is due to providing a product that consumers like and trust, but many of those same consumers might be irked by new Android commercials that decide to weigh in on a controversial social issue.

A series of new Android commercials feature quick shots of different slices of American life, but in-between the shots of traditional America are scenes showing and supporting gay marriage. In one commercial, titled "And You," which has been widely shown on television, one man is shown proposing to another man. In another commercial, titled "Be Together.  Not The Same," two men are shown kissing in a gay wedding ceremony. The commercial the gay marriage segment is used in explains that the world moves forward when people make brave decisions, and the gay marriage scene is coupled with a shot of Martin Luther King speaking and leading a protest march.

While Android obviously has the right to use whatever content they want in their commercials, to take a stand on such a contentious issue while promoting electronic devices makes little sense. It should be noted that this is not merely a company featuring gay Americans in their advertising. This is a company promoting gay marriage, an issue that divides most Americans, mostly on religious grounds, and is still not legal in many states. With recent reports of business owners being fined or threatened with jail time for refusing to participate in gay marriages, many feel such heavy-handed advocacy on an issue most consumers disagree on has no place in a commercial for smartphones and electronic devices.

Would Michelle Obama eat Abortion Ice Cream or Gay Whoppers?

First Lady Michelle Obama stresses the importance of eating healthy, even though she rarely practices what she preaches and likes to indulge in high calorie foods. It would not surprise us, then, if Mrs. Obama downs a "Gay Whooper" to show her support for gay marriage and polishes that off with a scoop of "Planned Parenthood Ice Cream" to show her solidarity for baby killing.

The mainstream media once bemoaned the idea that Chick-fil-A would politicize fast food when the company's founder endorsed Christian beliefs and traditional marriage. Now that the politicization has shifted to a liberal cause, the media is embracing, if not celebrating, the move.

You likely heard about the "Gay Whopper," which was offered by a San Francisco Burger King during the city's Gay Pride Parade in June. Actually called the "Proud Whopper," the burger is no different from a standard Whopper, except that it comes in a rainbow-colored wrapper with the words "We Are All The Same Inside."

Burger King recently posted a YouTube video promoting the "Gay Whopper," which included a shot of a Burger King manager asking a customer if they wanted meat, because "we can go both ways."

Meanwhile, up the West Coast in Portland, Oregon, supporters of abortions rights wanted to show some solidarity with Planned Parenthood, so an ice cream shop called What's The Scoop? offered a special flavor ("Rose City Revolution") to honor the organization, with 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the ice cream donated to the abortion provider. The flavor was sold during a special event at the business on July 17.

The abortion ice cream event was first reported by LifeNews.com, who posted an image from the event listing called "Ice Cream for Planned Parenthood," from the Facebook page of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon. Although Planned Parenthood said the event was a "big success," how much money was raised was not disclosed. In addition, the owner of the ice cream shop claims they have received threatening messages via phone and social media, although the only insult they could actually produce is a Facebook post from someone asking if they would produce a flavor called "Fetus Fudge."

Starbucks' free college education will cost you

Last week, Starbucks made headlines when it announced it would pay for the online college tuition at Arizona State University for its full-time employees. Unfortunately, now we know how Starbucks will pay for it: by raising prices on its customers.

The coffee chain announced Saturday that it will raise prices on its drinks across the board on Tuesday, between 10 and 15 cents each. In some markets, the price hike will be even higher. It also announced it was raising the price of bags of coffee sold in stores $1 per bag.

Prices on Starbucks drinks were raised just last year, and this new price hike is not connected to the price of coffee beans, as prices with suppliers are locked in for a year in advance. This leads many to believe the hike may be, in part, due to the new college plan they announced.

The Starbucks college plan sounded like a great idea when it was announced, and it will be a great investment in retaining quality employees for the chain and improving quality of life for a number of employees. However, many wondered how the chain could afford the cost, which could be as much as $30,000 per employee per year.

While Starbucks has made some impressive moves to support its employees, many are upset with the company's executive leadership, which often supports liberal causes. That includes a well publicized statement by CEO Howard Schultz last year that their efforts to support organizations working to legalize gay marriage meant there was no room for supporters of traditional marriage in the company.

Gay conservative puts intolerant Mozilla in its place

You've likely heard the news about Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich stepping down as head of the company because in 2008, he gave $1,000 to a group supporting Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage in California. Eich had helped found the company and had only recently been appointed CEO. He refused to discuss the topic in public, saying it was a private matter. It is still unclear how knowledge of the donation was made public from the tax return of a private citizen.

Gay rights advocates mounted a protest and boycott of the company until Eich departed, and Mozilla apologized after he left the company, stating that "we haven't stayed true to ourselves" in hiring Eich and insisting that it supports "equality and freedom of speech." Well, one out of two, apparently.

While many on the left (and the media) celebrated the move as a victory against anti-gay bigotry, one person ignited a firestorm by calling out Mozilla and gay rights advocates on their hypocrisy. And he did it in less than 140 characters.

LA Times writer: The Bible threatens to limit American liberty

History tells us that, for many of America’s forefathers, the fight for liberty was inspired by their Christian faith, best summed up by the idea that we are all endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. According to Los Angeles Times columnist/cartoonist David Horsey, however, the Bible preaches anything but that. In fact, he argues that the Bible preaches a gospel that limits liberty, namely gay rights.

Cultural exhibitionism or political grandstanding? The motives behind the Rose Parade gay wedding

The motivation behind a Rose Parade float featuring a gay wedding depends on who you ask. The float, sponsored by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), featured a wedding cake with two men on top, who married during the parade. Millions witnessed the wedding this morning, in person or on television, during the annual New Year's tradition.

According to AHF, the theme of the float was "Love is the Best Protection." It seems like an odd, if not dangerous, statement to make for an organization trying to stop the spread of AIDS (doctors would argue a condom or abstinence might protect a bit better). They also say the float was meant to celebrate the legalization of gay marriage in several states. Their website included an op-ed from the LA Daily News stating gay marriage is now as mainstream as the Rose Parade itself. From their standpoint, the float, and the wedding, were part of a larger political statement.

Modern Family star issues obscene tweet to Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson

Why does it always come back to the anus? Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who is gay, jumped into the Duck Dynasty debate when he tweeted an insult to Phil Robertson on December 19. Robertson, in case you've been under a rock, was suspended by A&E from his television show when he dared to quote the Bible and say homosexuality is a sin. He also wondered why anyone would choose a man's anus over a woman's vagina. That didn't seem to sit well with Ferguson, who tweeted thusly:

Andrew Garfield wants to make Spider-Man gay

Sometimes you have to question if some actors have any grasp of reality. Case in point: Andrew Garfield, who plays Spider-Man in the recent movie reboot of the Marvel superhero, said in a recent interview that he wanted to make his character gay in the upcoming sequel.

Apparently, the heavy-handed attempt to appear tolerant to the gay community didn't go over well with anyone, most of all fans of Spider-Man. Besides, one has to wonder, when you are dating actress Emma Stone (as Garfield is), why in the world are you even thinking about playing a gay character? The guy doesn't know a good thing when he has it.

After the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, The New Yorker Magazine decided to celebrate - by outing Sesame Street icons Bert and Ernie on the cover of their magazine. Why? We're really not sure, but it seems the liberal left has a weird obsession with Muppet sex.

Liberal pastor says Jesus was wrong on gay marriage

Meet Rev. Oliver White. He is the pastor of Grace Community United Church of Christ in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He is also bat-guano crazy.

Rev. White has gone on a campaign in support of gay marriage, arguing that Jesus "didn't know it all" about the subject, and would support it if He were here to speak to us today. Not surprisingly, White's stand has cost him most of his church members, and his church property is facing foreclosure. He's just being showered with blessings from above, we can tell.

Gay activists upset over immigrants getting all the attention

Well, aren't we a little miffed? Apparently some gay activists are upset that the talk in Washington isn't all about them, and they are pulling their support of some Democrats (with votes and money) because they aren't being included in immigration reform. All the gays hate Adrian Peterson

Brace yourself for a wave of attacks on Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson characterizing him as an intolerant bigot. The reason is simple: he refused to bow to political correctness and speak his mind.

Last Thursday, in an interview with Sirius/XM NFL Radio, Peterson said he does not support gay marriage, saying "To each his own. I’m not with it. But I have relatives that are gay. I’m not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love ‘em. But again, I’m not with that. That’s not something I believe in. But to each his own."

Peterson's statement after radio hosts Bruce Murray and Amani Toomer asked him if the Vikings' release of punter Chris Kluwe was motivated by his outspoken support of gay marriage.

Peterson doubted it had anything to do with it, and then stepped into the gay marriage debate.

Peterson's stand could lead to widespread condemnation and criticism, not unlike what former Jet Tim Tebow faced for speaking out on his personal beliefs. While the reigning NFL MVP was diplomatic with his words, that did not stop some gay activists from criticizing his opinion, because it didn't agree with their opinion.

DTLAL Magazine tweeted "Hater & Bigot Adrian Peterson of @Vikings comes out as a hater of #LGBT." Other bloggers and even some news websites characterized Peterson's comments in a negative light, often characterizing them as "anti-gay," including David Woods of Manolith.com.

Superman vs. The Gay Mafia vs. Orson Scott Card

Forget the days when Superman stood for truth, justice, and the American way. He can't even stand for free speech anymore. When DC Comics announced that conservative writer Orson Scott Card would write an upcoming Superman comic, gay activists lost their minds. Card has spoken out against gay marriage, and there have been calls to boycott DC Comics until they fire Card.
