CNN's Headquarters Are Being Sold As Network's Troubles Mount

CNN may be moving into smaller, more humble surroundings soon.

According to a report by Variety, WarnerMedia is selling the news network's downtown Atlanta headquarters, known as CNN Center. It's been home of CNN since 1987.

As the media landscape changes, many networks are downsizing, and declining ratings have hurt CNN worse than most.

Variety reports:

In a note sent to Atlanta staffers Monday, WarnerMedia Chief Financial Officer Pascal Desroches said the company had been considering what to do with its Atlanta CNN hub even before it was acquired by AT&T in 2018,  but put those discussions on hold. “Now that we’ve had time to further evaluate, we’ve concluded that the best course of action is to sell the CNN Center.”

Even so, some employees will likely remain at those offices for some time.

The Hollywood Reporter said employees would eventually be moved to its Techwood campus, which is located in the Atlanta area.

Other outlets are reporting that it is likely that some employees would be let go by CNN as part of the downsizing.
