WATCH: CBS Aired Faked Coronavirus Hospital Footage, Undercover Video Shows

While the coronavirus pandemic is a real health crisis, CBS News has been caught sensationalizing the situation by staging the response at a Michigan hospital.

Cherry Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan was featured in a CBS This Morning news segment on Friday, May 1. In it, a line of cars is seen waiting outside of the hospital so local residents could be tested for the COVID-19 virus.

However, an undercover video from Project Veritas has revealed that the long line of cars was staged for CBS News cameras. The video also shows that hospital workers were told to stand in a coronavirus testing line with real patients in order to make the demand for testing seem greater. "We knew they (CBS News) were coming, (but) had no clue we were going to - like - do fake patients," a nurse is heard saying in the video.

The video was obtained by Project Veritas from an insider at the hospital, who spoke to them about the situation. The insider claimed the staging was done by the hospital and CBS News personnel. "They faked the news. They faked reality," the insider said.

Cherry Health CEO Tasha Blackmon denied the accusations to Deadline. “We and CBS News had nothing to do with that line,” she said.

CBS News is also denying wrongdoing in a statement, claiming they “did not stage anything at the Cherry Health facility. Any suggestion to the contrary is 100% false. These allegations are alarming.”

However, CBS has acknowledged that Cherry Health did ask hospital staff in stand in a testing line for cameras, but they were not aware of the action until after the allegations arose. They have removed the video of the report from the internet.

Here is the undercover video, as tweeted out by Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe.

O'Keefe has tweeted out an update with the responses from Cherry Health and CBS News.

As a result of the video, the hashtag #ExposeCBS began trending on Twitter on Wednesday.
