Trump pushes for GOP unity on Obamacare replacement in Twitter video

President Trump took to Twitter Thursday in a final push to get Republicans to support his Obamacare replacement plan. In a video, he asked voters to push their members of Congress to support the bill.

The tweet and video comes at a time when Republicans are split over whether to support the bill. Some call it "Obamacare Lite," while others say it leaves too many people without insurance or with higher rates and costs.

The Freedom Caucus leads a group of conservative Republicans opposed to the new plan. They are pushing for a plan with more free market support. Supporters of President Trump's plan say the Obamacare replacement bill is a necessary first step. They argue dismantling Obamacare will require some steps Republicans do not want to support, but are necessary as a new system is built.

Earlier today, President Trump invited members of the Freedom Caucus to the White House. While the meeting was described as constructive, the two sides seem far apart. Senator Mike Lee says he does not expect the measure to pass, if there is a vote at all.

Papa John's CEO is a Trump supporter who favors small government

Papa John's is the home of better ingredients and better pizza. It is also the home of better principles.

Papa John's CEO John Schnatter (above) has made no bones of his small government beliefs. Like many entrepreneurs, he sees the danger big government poses to free enterprise. Which may explain why he supports Republicans.

CBO: Oh yeah, we were wrong about Obamacare, sorry about that...

Before Obamacare became the law of the land, supporters pointed to projections by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that said the new regulations would cut the federal deficit by $120 billion over ten years. Republicans said that was ridiculous, but the CBO stood by their numbers.

Now, the Republicans have been proven right.

The CBO recently, and rather quietly, admitted they were wrong about Obamacare, in a footnote buried in a recent report on new insurance regulations. Roll Call first caught the admission, which included this statement:

"CBO and JCT can no longer determine exactly how the provisions of the ACA that are not related to the expansion of health insurance coverage have affected their projections of direct spending and revenues,” the CBO wrote. “The provisions that expanded coverage established entirely new programs or components of programs that can be isolated and reassessed. Isolating the incremental effects of those provisions on previously existing programs and revenues four years after enactment of the ACP is not possible.”

This admission is probably of little solace to those Republicans who insisted Obamacare was bad policy, but at the very least, the CBO can now be counted as one sounding the alarm over the impending trainwreck the new law will bring. Estimates by the CBO now say the new regulations could cost over $1 trillion over ten years.

Sadly, Nacy Pelosi was right: we did have to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it. There just wasn't anything good to be found.

Stephen Colbert, Patrick Stewart mock Obamacare victims (VIDEO)

In a recent sketch on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert and actor Patrick Stewart took on the issue of Obamacare, but not to make fun of the disastrous rollout or the negative effects on Americans losing their insurance plans. Instead, the celebrity millionaires mocked the idea that anyone had lost their coverage, callously demeaning millions of people who have lost their insurance..

In the sketch, which aired March 3, Colbert criticized congressional Republicans who have been relaying “horror stories” about Obamacare cancellations, claiming that they were not true. He also mentioned an anti-Obamacare commercial used actors instead of real victims. He then claimed to have found someone who had lost their insurance, and introduced “Chuck Duprey,” a Louisiana redneck played by Stewart. Playing up the ignorant Republican hick stereotype, Stewart complained that his premiums rose due to “fisherman’s foot,” made a few jokes, and then cried out “repeal and replace” before collapsing and “dying.”

Valentine's cards use cute animals to promote Obamacare

The Obama administration's attempts to promote the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare, haven't been very successful, and some (like the infamous Pajama Boy) have been downright laughable. Their latest effort once again ruins a popular holiday by shoehorning Obamacare where it is neither needed or wanted. But at least you get pictures of cute cats.

Obamacare sets Pajama Boy free

Americans for Prosperity hit the nail on the head with their recent Obamacare meme. The CBO reports that millions will lose their jobs because of Affordable Care Act regulations, so let's hope Pajama Boy is one of those hitting the unemployment line. Assuming he ever had a job to begin with.

December 7, 1941: A day which will live in...hey look! Obamacare!

OK, I'm seriously beginning to think President Obama is trolling America now. There is no way the Leader of the Free World is this clueless.

His latest bit involves Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, which the President managed to forget mentioning on Twitter. He did, however, remember to tweet about Obamacare on the same day. Twice. Not even the official White House Twitter account mentioned it. They did, however, send out over a dozen tweets when Nelson Mandela died this week.

Obama's conference call works just as well as his Obamacare website

I decided to join in on the President's conference call on Monday night (11/18/2013), where the leader of the free world attempted to restore his shattered reputation by preaching to the faithful. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to hear his speech, as his website, BarackObama.com, couldn't properly load the audio feed from his call. That's right: another Obama website didn't work. Oh, irony. Incredibly, his people chalk it up to SO MANY PEOPLE trying to log in. Yeah, we've heard that one before.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one having issues with the website. According to Twitchy.com, lots of folks couldn't log in to the call, including many reporters. Oops.

If you didn't get to hear the Chosen One explain how everything's gonna be cool with Obamacare (eventually) either, you apparently didn't miss much. Twitchy reported that one of the President's ideas to boost Obamacare was to talk it up at Christmas parties. I'm not kidding. Obamacare supporters have sunk to the level of THAT GUY at every party who tries to sell you something. We may just win this war without having to fire a shot, since the opposition keeps shooting themselves in the foot.

BarackObama.com asks for money to save Obamacare

Things are so bad for Obamacare right now, the President is passing around the hat. In a recent email, Organizing for Action (OFA), the President;s political group that runs BarackObama.com, recently sent out an email asking for donations to help promote Obamacare. Since millions have had their insurance cancelled, they have all that extra money sitting around to donate, so who knows?

Finally, someone who likes Obamacare.....hookers!

It is obvious that President Obama didn't have your average, hard-working American in mind when he crafted Obamacare. With so many having their policies cancelled and their rates raised, the middle class seems to getting the short end of the stick.

So who is actually benefiting from the Affordable Care Act? Workers in the sex industry, it appears. A recent event organized by Obamacare supporters in San Francisco (of course) featured burlesque dancers performing risque skits in which they ended up topless to entertain strippers, hookers, and other assorted sex industry workers and convince them to sign up for Obamacare. It was dubbed a "Healthy Ho's Party." Seriously.

Apparently, when you're a hooker and only deal in cash, insurance is a problem. Thankfully, Obamacare will subsidize their health care - with our tax dollars. Thanks, Mr. President!

The Heritage Foundation reveals ObamaCare's true cost

The Heritage Foundation has managed to do what President Obama can't - give us all real numbers of the cost of ObamaCare. Below is a chart listing the rates for certain age and family groups, if you purchase from the government's health care exchange. As you can see, young people - who thought they were getting free medical care - will carry the biggest burden of cost. It should be noted that Virginia's numbers may be more than usual (due to exchange errors), and some states, like New York and New Jersey, have certain regulations in place that will initially keep their rates lower than usual. Bad news, people. Dunkin Donuts is facing extinction, and it's all because of ObamaCare. New regulations from the Affordable Healthcare Act are threatening the donut chain's profitability, which just may be Michelle Obama's sneaky way of making us eat healthier.

He's no Rocky: Obama tells GOP "Go for it"

In a speech given in Iowa City yesterday (March 25), President Obama continued to play the politics of division while openly challenging Republicans to repeal the health care reform bill he recently signed into law.

"There's been a lot of misinformation spread about health care reform," Obama said. "There has been plenty of fear-mongering and overheated rhetoric. And if you turn on the news, you'll see that those same folks are still shouting about how the world will end because we passed this bill. This is not an exaggeration." Once again, Obama himself creates a chasm in the health care debate discourse. In his mind, you cannot merely oppose his ideas because of political and economic ramifications. There is no "agree to disagree." In the President's mind, anyone who refuses to drink his kool-aid is a radical nutjob.   

The President then went on for several minutes to once again quote all of the supposed wonderful things this reform plan will do. Now that the bill is passed, it's completely unnecessary for him to do so, but Obama's still trying to win the PR battle with the American public. He's desperate to turn the tide of popular opinion, which is still largely against him.

Finally, the President challenged Republicans to try and repeal the bill. "Go for it," the President said. "If they want to have that fight, I'll welcome that fight." Now who's being violent?

Truth be told, America will "go for it," in droves. They will march on Election Day and place their ballot against those who supported this bill. The fight has only just begun.

The only thing liberals fear is losing power

There has been much wailing and gnashing of teeth in the media over the so-called "violence" over the passage of ObamaCare. A CNN anchor wondered "is this the end of civil debate in politics?" Story after story piled on the rumors and hearsay as if it were real and assumed at every point that rank and file Tea Partiers and conservatives were responsible.

Finally, CNN scraped the bottom of the intellectual barrel. They cut to a clip from The Joy Behar Show - JOY BEHAR - who openly blamed conservative talk radio and the right for the violence. When MSNBC attacks the right, at least their anchors and commentators have the guts to say it themselves. CNN hides behind people like Behar to take shots at the right and define the argument. Rick Sanchez and other anchors love to use "viewer feedback" to set the tone and make it appear as if conservatives are extremists. Ever see comments or emails from folks on the right? They rarely make it on air.

Democrats, and liberals in particular, aren't afraid of broken windows, name calling, and "hostile hate speech" as they would have you believe. Rather, they are tools to fight something they really fear: losing power. The right is rising, and we are witnessing a triumph of common sense over progressive thought. The working middle class is reclaiming power from the political elitists in Washington, and the idea has them running scared. Their only defense is to convince mainstream America that such movements are radical, and exaggerating some incidents and blaming the right is part of the plan.

No doubt there are those who will use such situations to express their anger, but it is nonsensical to portray such behavior as indicative of a large group of people. When anarchists riot at political summits, a liberal protester bites off the finger of a Tea Partier, and SEIU thugs beat up an African American Tea Partier, their actions are never condemned or fretted over by the media. The double standard is obvious, and should be worn as a badge of honor by those of us on the right. The tide has turned. The left is desperate. We are winning.

Shocker: Uncle Sam spends like a drunken sailor

A story in the Dallas Morning News this weekend highlighted what sort of a job the government does with public housing. HUD paid a Dallas slumlord $1.5 million (in stimulus money no less) last year - equal to $850 a month per apartment - for a complex that features rotted floors, sewage spills, and exposed wiring. Twice, the city sued to shut the complex down as a public nuisance. HUD says the amount paid is fair market value. The article points out that you can find townhomes in better parts of Dallas for under $800 a month.

Let's put aside the government waste argument for a much larger point. This is just one of many examples of our federal government's inability to properly administer and provide oversight of an otherwise well-intentioned, useful program. It's why the government should not take over health care. The basics of health care (including doing everything possible to treat someone) will be undermined by the lack of accountability inherent in bureaucracy. If ObamaCare takes over, it is only a matter of time before we find out about waste and inefficiency that will bury the world's best health care system in a tangle of red tape. John McCain said it best: "Government interventions are not the solutions to our nation's challenges."

KNEEL BEFORE OBAMA!

Never go against the Barry. The Obama Administration has launched an investigation into Humana, a national health care provider, for sending a letter to their own customers stating that ObamaCare will effectively cut their services. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has issued a "cease and desist" letter to Humana, ordering them not to criticize the plan until an investigation is complete.

It seems the media couldn't care less that the federal government is using its power to intimidate a private company from exercising their right to free speech and warning their customers of what they think is a bad idea.
