You remember Garbage Pail Kids, don't you? Those crazy sticker cards with gross-out subjects were a big hit in the 1980s. You might be surprised to learn that they are still around, and they just created a card of Donald Trump kicking off the New Year by kicking out the old one. It's WHO Trump is kicking, however, that makes the card hilarious. You can read more after the jump.

Obama's PAC launches gun control campaign on social media

There are several reasons why Republicans and conservatives in general are losing the culture war, but none are as glaring as the ability of the liberal left to quickly utilize social media to support a movement. The recent Orlando nightclub shooting is a prime example.

After the Orlando shooting, Republicans had the right talking points; namely, Muslim extremism inspired the killer to commit an act of terrorism against gays, an oppressed and persecuted minority under Islam. However, within 24 hours of the tragedy taking place, Organizing for Action (a PAC formed out of the Obama presidential campaign organization) was already pushing the "gun control" narrative with an elaborate social media campaign.

Gitmo prisoners can't have a Bible, but are given Obama's books

Miami Herald reporter Carol Rosenberg is one of the few media members that extensively covers Guantanamo Bay and the prisoners stationed there. She recently tweeted out the photo featured here, taken in the Gitmo library for detainees, which shows off the fact that their selection of books includes President Barack Obama's books. Rosenberg reports six copies of his books are available.

However, the United States government has a say in what books are stocked in the library, and while detainees can read President Obama's books or get a copy of the Koran, there is one book they will not allow on the library shelves: the Bible.

In 2005, one of the Gitmo detainees, Saifullah Paracha, requested a copy of the Bible to read, along with the works of Shakespeare. Paracha's request was denied, even after his lawyer mailed a brand new copy to the Gitmo chaplain requesting that it be given to him. A government lawyer told him the Bible "violated prison policy."

Paracha filed suit against the government to get a copy of the Bible and other books. In response to the lawsuit, the government claimed they could ban any books that would "incite" prisoners. The government finally did allow the Shakespeare plays into the library, but the Bible remains banned.

Remember when Obama promised not to vacation as President?

As America's taxpayers shell out tens of millions to pay for the vacations of President Obama and his family, it perhaps is a good time to remind everyone of something then-Senator Obama said about presidential vacations.

In the video posted below, filmed during his first run for the White House, Obama made his case for being elected by saying he would give the job his full attention, even if that meant forgoing vacations. Not only has he broken the vacation promise, he plays golf more often than any other President in recent history.

You won't believe how much time Obama has spent on the golf course

This weekend, CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller reported that President Obama played the 250th round of golf of his presidency on Saturday. Knoller also mentioned an interview Obama did with CBS back in 2009, in which he said he enjoys playing golf because it gets him "out of the bubble" of the White House and outside for six hours. Think about that - our President is spending six hours at a time on any given day out on the golf course. Only our President could do that and still keep his job.

We decided to do the math and figure out exactly what sort of impact Obama's golf hobby is having on his job. 250 rounds of golf, at six hours per round, equals out to 1,500 hours. That means President Obama has played golf the equivalent of 24 hours a days for nearly 63 days of his Presidency. That's obscene.  

Starbucks CEO defends Obama, slams Giuliani

Starbucks CEO (and outspoken liberal) Howard Schultz has once again jumped on his progressive soapbox, this time, to criticize former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani over his comments that President Barack Obama doesn't love America.

Giuliani, speaking at a private event for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in New York City on February 18, openly questioned Obama's love for his country. “I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America,” he said. "He doesn't love you. And he doesn't love me. He wasn't brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.” The event was held at the 21 Club in Manhattan and was attended by a number of conservative leaders and media types, according to a report by Politico.

In response, Schultz issued a statement slamming Mayor Giuliani's comments. "As an American, I find Rudy Giuliani's vicious comments about President Obama 'not loving America' to be profoundly offensive to both the President and the Office," he said, citing his comments as "yet another example of the extreme rhetoric that continues to divide our country rather than uniting us in common purpose."

Schultz has used his platform as Starbucks CEO to campaign for a number of liberal causes. His push to legalize gay marriage in Washington state led to his statements to shareholders to sell their stock if they didn't agree with him. Even this liberal group thought Obama's executive order was unconstitutional

You know President Obama has gone over the line when even liberals are calling him out. The Isenberg Center for Immigration Empowerment (ICIE) in Dallas is a self-described liberal immigration group, but they have no problem calling out any politician of any party when they do not follow the Constitution. They have been highly critical of President Obama's high deportation rate and the lack of due process many immigrants experience. In fact, founder Ralph Isenberg is quick to point out that Republican Presidents tend to be pro-immigrant in their policies, while Democratic Presidents often fall short (he cites Bill Clinton's disastrous immigration reform of 1996 as a prime example).

After a federal judge struck down President Obama's executive order on immigration, ICIE issued a press release praising the move, pointing out that Obama had violated the Constitution and overstepped his authority. He points out that while adjustments should be made to ensure due process in the immigration process, it should be initiated by Congress, not the President.

The statement issued by ICIE is as follows:

The Isenberg Center for Immigration Empowerment (ICIE) in Dallas has reviewed the decision of the Federal District Court in Dallas concerning President Obama’s Executive Order in November expanding the Deferred Action Childhood Arrival program (DACA) and delaying the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program (DAPA). The presiding judge issued an injunction while the lawsuit moves forward, and ICIE is not surprised by the actions of the Federal Court. 

ICIE, which helps hundreds of foreign nationals and their families remain together in the United States each year, often finds itself at odds with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its policies. However, in this case, ICIE will be the first to point out that immigration is a matter the Constitution left to Congress. 

According to ICIE founder Ralph Isenberg, “The Congress is free to use the Executive Branch to implement policy but the President is not free to get in the way of what Congress desires. The Supreme Court has been very clear on this matter, which is called ‘plenary power.’ The President has no right to alter the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952 (INA 1952), which remains the core document of laws relating to immigration.” 

Isenberg feels the INA of 1952 should be modified to repair the damage done by the passing during the Clinton Administration of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, which would open more opportunities to resolve millions of immigration matters without any immigration reform act.

Obama's immigration executive order helps his Democratic lawyer allies, not immigrants

We all agree that our current immigration system is broken. Unfortunately, little has been done to correct the main problems keeping good people from immigrating legally: a cut in the bureaucracy in the application process, and the elimination of President Obama's detention quotas and visa limits. While Republicans should be addressing the red tape in the immigration process, their failure to act has opened the door for President Obama to grandstand on the issue with his recent executive order. However, that doesn't mean he is actually helping immigrants.

Ralph Isenberg, an immigration activist and founder of The Isenberg Center for Immigration Empowerment (ICIE), posted this editorial on his organization's website today, addressing the recent moves by both the President and Congress on the immigration issue. Isenberg believes the President's moves are geared to benefit immigration attorneys (who tend to be Democratic) over the immigrants who truly need relief. Isenberg, for some time, has spoken out against attorneys he feels take advantage of immigrants, while his group provides their services to immigrants at no charge. His statement follows:

Absolute idiot Gwyneth Paltrow: Give Obama absolute power

Gwyneth Paltrow held a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee at her home in Los Angeles this week, with President Barack Obama in attendance. As she was introducing the President, Paltrow couldn’t contain herself. Her statements to the crowd suggested nothing short of making Obama King of America, according to a report by TheWrap.com.

“It would be wonderful if we were able to give this man all of the power that he needs to pass the things that he needs to pass,” Paltrow said of the President. The Oscar winning actress then acted like a love-struck schoolgirl, openly flirting with the President. ”I'll shut up now and just say welcome; and you're so handsome that I can't speak properly,” she said.

In her comments, discussed the importance of equal pay for women, saying the issue is “very important to me as a working mother.” Paltrow’s idea of “equal pay” may be a bit skewed, as she personally earned $19 million this year alone, and has a personal net worth of over $60 million.

Attendees at the event were hardly typical “working mothers,” as tickets just for the cocktail reception and President Obama’s remarks started at $1,000. 200 people attended the reception, while 50 individuals paid an additional $15,000 to have dinner with the President afterward. Among the attendees at the event were Julia Roberts and actor Bradley Whitford.

President Obama had recently held other fundraisers in Hollywood, including one at the home of Fox Entertainment CEO Jim Gianopulos. In July, President Obama held a fundraiser at the home of Scandal creator Shonda Rimes, just a few months after the President appointed her to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Board of Trustees.

Gwyneth Paltrow to host Obama fundraiser in her Hollywood home

Gwyneth Paltrow, or at the very least, the withered husk that was once the Oscar-winning actress, remains one of President Barack Obama's strongest supporters, even while the rest of Hollywood and America has soured on his multiple failures. To show that support, the actress is opening her home to the President and the Democratic party on October 9 for a fundraiser, with the Democratic National Committee raking in the dough.

According to an invitation by the DNC obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, President Obama will attend a reception at the actress' home, followed by an intimate dinner during which he will answer questions from guests.

In case you're hoping to attend to rub shoulders with Hollywood's elite or ask the President a questions about Benghazi, know that it will cost you. Tickets to the event run between $1,000 and $32,400 (apparently that extra $400 is really necessary). The message is clear: no riff-raff from the middle class allowed.

It is not unusual for Obama to go to Hollywood looking for money to fund Democratic candidates and the general wussification of our once great country. However, President Obama has already held what was billed as his final Hollywood fundraiser of the year in July, when he held events at the home of Shonda Rhimes (creator of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal), as well as the home of Michael Rapino, owner of Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

Playing golf while Iraq falls and the world burns....

Considering the state of the world right now (especially Iraq), it seems like the President should be doing something other than fund raising and golfing in Palm Springs, and yet, that's just what's he's doing this weekend. So this cartoon from 2010 seemed fitting. Things never change.

Mad Magazine trolls President Obama

When even the left-leaning Mad Magazine is mocking you, you've pretty much lost all credibility with America. Wow.

CBO: Oh yeah, we were wrong about Obamacare, sorry about that...

Before Obamacare became the law of the land, supporters pointed to projections by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that said the new regulations would cut the federal deficit by $120 billion over ten years. Republicans said that was ridiculous, but the CBO stood by their numbers.

Now, the Republicans have been proven right.

The CBO recently, and rather quietly, admitted they were wrong about Obamacare, in a footnote buried in a recent report on new insurance regulations. Roll Call first caught the admission, which included this statement:

"CBO and JCT can no longer determine exactly how the provisions of the ACA that are not related to the expansion of health insurance coverage have affected their projections of direct spending and revenues,” the CBO wrote. “The provisions that expanded coverage established entirely new programs or components of programs that can be isolated and reassessed. Isolating the incremental effects of those provisions on previously existing programs and revenues four years after enactment of the ACP is not possible.”

This admission is probably of little solace to those Republicans who insisted Obamacare was bad policy, but at the very least, the CBO can now be counted as one sounding the alarm over the impending trainwreck the new law will bring. Estimates by the CBO now say the new regulations could cost over $1 trillion over ten years.

Sadly, Nacy Pelosi was right: we did have to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it. There just wasn't anything good to be found.

White House secretly collected data from Americans responding to 'online privacy' survey

 

In an episode of political irony, the Obama White House recently asked for the public’s input on internet privacy and the collection of private data online, while at the same time secretly collecting data from those participating in the survey.

Stephen Colbert, Patrick Stewart mock Obamacare victims (VIDEO)

In a recent sketch on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert and actor Patrick Stewart took on the issue of Obamacare, but not to make fun of the disastrous rollout or the negative effects on Americans losing their insurance plans. Instead, the celebrity millionaires mocked the idea that anyone had lost their coverage, callously demeaning millions of people who have lost their insurance..

In the sketch, which aired March 3, Colbert criticized congressional Republicans who have been relaying “horror stories” about Obamacare cancellations, claiming that they were not true. He also mentioned an anti-Obamacare commercial used actors instead of real victims. He then claimed to have found someone who had lost their insurance, and introduced “Chuck Duprey,” a Louisiana redneck played by Stewart. Playing up the ignorant Republican hick stereotype, Stewart complained that his premiums rose due to “fisherman’s foot,” made a few jokes, and then cried out “repeal and replace” before collapsing and “dying.”

Obama blames Fox News for holding him accountable

There's been plenty of coverage about President Obama's interview with Bill O'Reilly before the Super Bowl, so we won't revisit it. However, we will make an observation.

President Obama blaming Fox News for his scandals is like a Scooby Doo villain getting caught and then blaming those meddling kids.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to treat myself to a Scooby Snack.
