Conservatives furious over Ann Coulter's anti-Semitic, anti-Israel tweets

With a handful of tweets Wednesday night, Ann Coulter may have single-handedly kicked herself out of the conservative movement. The author and commentator raised the ire of many, and is being accused of anti-Semitism, after criticizing several Republican candidates during the Presidential debate for their support of Israel.

Coulter took to Twitter Wednesday night (September 16) as the top 11 candidates for the Republican Presidential nomination participated in the CNN Presidential Debate at the Ronald Reagan Library.

Live-tweeting as the debate unfolded, Coulter managed to unload criticism on every candidate throughout the night, except for Donald Trump, whom she has supported in recent weeks.

Coulter initially seemed annoyed when several candidates mentioned their support of Israel should they become President, tweeting this:

Coulter then made her feelings on Israel (and Jews) clear with her next tweet:

Coulter’s ranting tweets caught many by surprise, with some wondering if she had been hacked. However, Coulter doubled down in later tweets, complaining that the candidates were pandering to Israel, Jews, and Evangelicals. When someone called her tweet about Jews offensive, she joked that she had much more offensive ones. She defended her comments to a number of Twitter users who called the tweet offensive.

Her tweet also unleashed several anti-Semitic responses in support of her anti-Israel stance, including one tweet that included a drawing of someone wearing a Star of David defecating into Uncle Sam’s mouth, which is too graphic to include here.

Coulter also complained that the Republicans were pandering to the pro-life crowd, accused the candidates (except Trump) of wanting to bring terrorists to America as refugees, made fun of Chris Christie’s weight and Rand Paul’s hair, and called Carly Fiorina “annoying.” Only Trump escaped her vitriol.

Raiders of the Lost Ark actor hates Israel

You know how they always say that artists are open-minded, tolerant types? Let's shatter that myth once again. In 2012, a number of British actors and playwrights protested (via an open letter) an invitation to Israel's national theatre company, Habima, to perform at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London as part of an international festival.

They were upset that Israel was invited to participate because they claim Israelis took land from the Palestinians. You know, those guys that support terrorism when they aren't blowing themselves up, along with hundreds of innocent people. And don't even get us started on the rockets they fire from the West Bank into civilian areas. Or their dancing in the streets to celebrate the 9/11 attacks on our country. Yeah, those poor, innocent, oppressed folk.

Among those who signed the letter was Paul Freeman, whose name may not ring a bell with you, but his face surely will, as he has appeared in a number of film roles, including Ivan Ooze, the villain in the 1995 Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers movie. Missed that one? Consider yourself lucky.

However, you likely will remember him as Rene Belloq, the French archaeologist and nemesis of Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. I found just a bit ironic that a guy who dressed in ceremonial Jewish robes in a film that featured the wrath of God unleashed on the enemies of Israel would dare to criticize them in real life. Does he not remember what happened to his character? Sometimes, actors can be very stupid people.

Scarlett Johansson bucks trend of anti-Israel celebrities (and we name names)

We've criticized actress Scarlett Johansson on this site before (click here to read about her bizarre speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2012) but we also feel it is important to give credit where credit is due, even to liberal celebrities. So here's a little love for the Avengers' Black Widow.

According to a report by Benny Avni of The New York Post, Johansson was recently the target of much criticism from the left because she recently signed on as a spokesperson for Sodastream, the "make your own soda at home" company. A number of left-wing, anti-Israel activists are upset by this, because Sodastream has a factory in the West Bank. Liberal human rights group Oxfam International criticized Johansson for supporting an Israeli company in what they consider Palestinian land. Johansson, who is Jewish, isn't budging on her stand.

Many of these anti-Israel activists support boycotts of any businesses connected to the Jewish state, and in true liberal fashion, they hurt the very people they claim to support. Sodastream employs hundreds of Palestinians in their Israeli factories, paying them the same as their Jewish co-workers.

According to Avni, a number of celebrities are vocal supporters of the anti-Israel movement and boycott the country, including Vanessa Redgrave and Emma Thompson. Elvis Costello, Annie Lennox, Roger Waters, and Stevie Wonder refuse to perform in Israel. Waters, in particular, routinely bashes Israel and delivers anti-Semitic rants, according to Avni.

A number of musicians, however, do perform in Israel and defy the boycott. They include Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Neil Young, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Madonna and Bob Dylan.
