In a cringe-worthy video, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi forgot the name of George Floyd, the victim of police brutality that has sparked nationwide protests and calls for change.

The shocking personal connections between D.C. Democrats and the media

The cozy relationship between Democrats in Washington and the mainstream media became even more apparent after Obama advisor Susan Rice found herself back in the news recently.

After revelations that Rice was behind the "unmasking" of names of Trump associates in U.S. intelligence reports, ABC News ignored the story. That was because Rice has a close, personal connection ABC News that most were unaware of. She isn't the only Washington Democrat with friends and family in the same media tasked to report on them.

'Photo ID' sign at DNC highlights Democrat hyprocrisy

This photo, taken at the Democratic National Convention, was posted to Facebook by Wayne Christian, former Texas state representative and current candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner.  It shows a sign requiring delegates to show a photo ID to receive credentials and participate in convention activities. The procedure seems to fly in the face of the Democrats' political position that photo IDs should not be required to vote. It is not clear from where the photo originated.

"The hypocrisy of the Democrat Party never ceases to amaze me," Christian said in the Facebook post. "This photo taken at the Democrat Convention shows that the party requires photo identification to participate as a delegate at convention. This is the same party that describes Voter ID as an 'unnecessary restriction on those seeking to exercise freedom.'"

The irony was not lost on conservatives, who took the photo viral on social media. The Democratic party has not commented on the photo.

Democrats in Congress show hypocrisy over the minimum wage hike

While we all can agree that workers should be paid fairly, this push to hike the minimum wage is a seriously misguided attempt that will hurt the very people it wants to help. Ironically, as this graphic from PolicyMic.com shows, most of the congressmen supporting the hike don't even bother to pay their interns. Republicans shouldn't laugh too loudly at the hypocrisy; of the 4% that do, all are either Democrats or Independents. Perhaps the most surprising fact about minimum wage workers comes from the Department of Labor itself, which states that out of 75 million hourly wage earners, only 1.2 million earn minimum wage, with most of those young workers just entering the work force.

Lost in all the health care hoopla is a move to get to the bottom of the Countrywide scandal, in which some Democratic members of Congress, including Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad, got sweetheart deals on mortgages in return for political favors. When Republican Rep. Daniel Issa called for a vote to subpoena records of possible phone call recordings that could shed light on the scandal, the Democratic members in the Oversight Committee took off out the back door.
