Lost in all the health care hoopla is a move to get to the bottom of the Countrywide scandal, in which some Democratic members of Congress, including Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad, got sweetheart deals on mortgages in return for political favors. When Republican Rep. Daniel Issa called for a vote to subpoena records of possible phone call recordings that could shed light on the scandal, the Democratic members in the Oversight Committee took off out the back door.
